Meet Michelle

Loving Wife, Super Mom, and Community Leader

Michelle grew up in our community and appreciates her deep roots that date back for generations. She understands what makes our district unique as well as a desirable place to live and raise a family. Michelle and her husband, Tony, live in the Harpeth/Highway 100 area and are proud parents of two adult children, and 10-year-old Ella.

Michelle graduated from Brentwood Academy and Lipscomb University. She is a registered nurse who began her diverse healthcare career at Vanderbilt University Medical Center working in the operating room. She transitioned into psychiatric nursing, utilizing her undergraduate degree and strong desire to support and advocate for a struggling patient population who is underrepresented and largely misunderstood. Michelle also served as a clinical risk manager for a nationally recognized leader in the strategic and operational management of ambulatory surgery centers across the country. She oversaw more than 250 surgery centers, with the responsibility of improving the quality and safe delivery of health care in those centers.

Michelle returned to the classroom in 2017 to pursue her law degree. She is a proud graduate of Nashville School of Law, where she was elected for three consecutive years, by her fellow classmates, to serve on the NSL Honor Council, both as secretary and vice-president.

During this time, Michelle and Tony also made the decision to homeschool Ella, as the traditional school environment became increasingly unstable and unpredictable. This unexpected challenge was great for the entire family and Michelle knew that flexibility and adaptability were necessary skills that she possessed. She also knew that a stable, consistent, and normalized environment was key for Ella’s continued progress and success in her own education. Ella excelled in the homeschool environment, and is excited to attend Nashville Christian School in the fall of 2022-Go Eagles!

Michelle is also very active in the community, and takes great pride in volunteer service and being a member of several professional associations at the local, state, and national levels. Some of those organizations include the Bellevue Exchange Club, Daughters of the American Revolution, American Nurses Association, Tennessee Nurses Association, Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency, Tennessee Federation of Republican Women, Nashville Republican Women, The Federalist Society and The Heritage Foundation.

Michelle has been involved in political campaigns since she was a teenager, helping good candidates get elected at every level of government. In 2018 she ran for the office of GOP State Executive Committeewoman for the 20th Senatorial District. In a race with multiple, well-known and qualified candidates, Michelle was overwhelmingly elected to her office by our district. She has served our district well, working closely with our legislators in support of legislation that continues to make our community a great place to live. Michelle was unanimously elected by the Executive Committee to chair the newly formed Permanent Elections subcommittee of the SEC, after the 2020 elections. She led her subcommittee in drafting Resolutions to the Tennessee General Assembly regarding election integrity. Michelle and the entire SEC body are proud to see their hard work translate into multiple pieces of legislation passed into law, and she looks forward to continuing that same work in the General Assembly as our State House Representative for District 59.
